Miss Lister slowly comes to life with the application of paint to her hatband and her skirts. I painted the skirt in straight ivory black and laid in Prussian Blue shadows. Highlights were rendered with the addition of titanium white. Then I "weathered" the bottom edges of the skirt with powder made from an earthy Naples yellow pastel. I did this in two stages, the first to just lighten the hem while the paint was still wet. The second bit was applied a little more heavily when it had dried, just to give it that "out and about" feel.
I also dusted the toes of her boots and gaiters.
Here is how the figure looks from behind.
All that really remains now is the coat, and this I will do in two stages, starting with the top and moving to the skirts. I will add weathering and distress to the bottom edges of that garment also. It's a fairly large piece of work, so I expect it will be at least another week before I update again.
